From no website to tender-ready in under two weeks
Eviron Group has more than 30 years of combined experience in vegetation control and arboriculture, and serves government bodies and utility companies along Australia's east coast. It had no website at all. In a sector where buyers research suppliers before they shortlist them, that was costing contracts, so speed mattered as much as craft.
Overview
The challenge
Eviron Group manages vegetation for utilities, councils and contractors, with a safety record and a reputation built over three decades. Its work runs from tree climbing and crane removals to asset inspection and environmental management.
None of that was visible online, because there was no website.
Commercial clients and government bodies increasingly research a supplier before engaging one, and a tender process is exactly where an absent digital presence is read as a risk. Competing for large contracts without a site put the business at a straightforward disadvantage against less experienced competitors who had one.
There was a second constraint. This is an operational business with crews in the field, so the work could not wait on a long build, and it could not consume the team's attention while it happened.
Our approach
-
Strategy
Because credibility was the blocker, the sequence mattered more than the scope. We split the build in two.
- Stage one: a polished homepage, live fast, so there is something to point a prospect at
- Stage two: the full marketing site, built out behind it
- A foundation that can carry case studies, industry pages and content later without a rebuild
-
Design
Custom Figma designs, mobile-first, for an audience that is often reading on site rather than at a desk.
- Designed for the small screen first, then widened to desktop
- Service information structured to explain complex capabilities to a non-specialist buyer
- The safety record and 30 years of experience given real space, since they are the differentiators
-
Development
Built in Webflow, with the lead capture and measurement in place from launch rather than added later.
- Contact and careers forms with spam protection and automated routing
- On-page SEO, meta data and internal linking built in from the start
- GA4 with custom event tracking, so form conversions are visible from day one
Technical deep-dive
-
A two-stage build
The phasing was the strategy, not a compromise on it.
- Homepage live within 1.5 weeks, giving the team something to use in tenders immediately
- Full marketing site delivered within 2 to 4 weeks
- Structured so later expansion does not mean starting again
-
Forms that route themselves
Two distinct audiences arrive: clients with work, and people looking for a job.
- Separate contact and careers forms with automated routing
- Spam protection and success confirmation on both
-
Measurement from launch
A first website is also the first time the business can see demand.
- GA4 with custom event tracking installed at launch, not retrofitted
- Form conversions tracked, so enquiry sources are visible
-
Handover as a deliverable
A field business cannot depend on an agency for a copy change.
- Webflow Editor access with a recorded walkthrough
- Cross-browser and device testing before handover
Results and impact
The timings below are the project record. No traffic or lead figures are published here, because this was a first website and there is no before to measure against.
- 1.5 weeks
Homepage live
- Stage one of a deliberate two-stage build
- 2 to 4 weeks
Full site delivered
- Built out behind the already-live homepage
A business with 30 years of experience now looks like it. Prospects researching a supplier find the services, the safety focus and the track record, and can enquire in a couple of taps from a phone on site.
Because the analytics went in at launch, the team can also see which services draw enquiries, which is information the business has never had before.
Key takeaway
For a business with no website, the first job is not the perfect site. It is being findable and credible before the next tender closes. Splitting the build meant Eviron had something real to point at in a week and a half, and the full site followed without the pressure of being the only thing standing between them and a contract.
