Scaling the dealer platform down for a single-state operation

Case study

Bradley Equipment

Bradley Equipment sells and rents used aggregate, environmental and recycling equipment in Texas. It is the third dealership in the US Equipment family to go live on the inventory platform we built for the group, and the first to test it in the other direction: not more states and more layers, but a leaner, single-state deployment that keeps the machinery and drops what a smaller footprint does not need.

  • The Bradley Equipment homepage shown on a desktop browser and a phone, headed "Heavy Equipment Sales, Rentals & Service Solutions" over machinery photography.
  • The equipment-for-sale page, with the category picker above dropdown filters for category, manufacturer and model.
  • A used trommel’s listing page, with its photo gallery, price and financing calculator beside a talk-to-sales form.

The challenge

The third site in a family build is where a platform either pays off or starts to fight you. Bradley Equipment serves Texas from one base, with a used-equipment focus and a tighter manufacturer list than its Midwest and Southeast siblings.

Handing it the full multi-state architecture would have produced empty layers: state pages with one state, regional facets with nothing to facet. But cutting it loose from the platform would mean a third listing system to maintain. The job was to deploy the same machinery at a smaller size without leaving stubs of the bigger sites behind.

Our approach

  1. Strategy

Same data model, smaller surface. The platform’s layers are optional, and this deployment proves it.

    • The multi-state page layers were left out entirely rather than left empty
    • Listings, model pages and manufacturer pages carry the site on their own
    • The family connection stays visible: sister dealers are cross-linked in the footer
  2. Design

The proven interface, carrying Bradley’s own stock and contacts.

    • Same filtering and listing templates as the sibling sites
    • Real prices shown where the dealer chooses, call-for-price where it does not
    • Status badges so sold and incoming machines are always marked
  3. Development

A Webflow deployment of the shared platform, inheriting its automation.

    • Inventory fed from the same database structure as the sibling dealerships
    • Per-listing product and offer schema, generated automatically
    • Flip-book rental catalogue linked from the navigation

Technical deep-dive

  • Subtraction as the deliverable

What this deployment leaves out is the point. A platform that cannot scale down forces small operations to cosplay as big ones.

    • No per-state layers: a single-state dealer gets a single-state site
    • Around 570 pages in the live sitemap, nearly all listings and model pages
    • The full filtering interface retained, because inventory depth is not smaller
  • The same search foundations

    Leaner structure, same standards.

    • Organisation and product schema throughout
    • Model and manufacturer pages catching specific-machine searches
    • A plain-text llms.txt, consistent with the rest of the dealer family

Results and impact

The counts below are structural, taken from the live sitemap in September 2026. No traffic or lead figures are published for this project.

  • 570+

    Pages generated from inventory data

    • Counted from the live sitemap, not estimated

Bradley Equipment went live with the family's full listing, filtering and structured-data capability, minus the layers a single-state dealer does not need. Three dealerships now run on one platform, each sized to its own footprint.

For the team, the win is operational: the same inventory workflow runs all three sites, so staff move between them without relearning anything.

Key takeaway

A platform proves itself twice: once when it scales up, and again when it scales down. Bradley Equipment kept the filtering, the schema and the inventory automation, and shed the multi-state architecture it did not need. One system, three dealerships, each the right size.
